For our second project, I've had a couple ideas bouncing around my head. One idea was to make a sleepy cat lounging on a sunny balcony. My idea was that maybe the cat would be snoozing, get up and stretch, curl back up into a ball and go back to sleep. This way, I could make it into a loop of a chill, cute scene. Below are some of the photos that inspired this. It includes a cute little balcony scene with some flowers and plants to give a nature vibe, a cat model stretching in the way I would probably make it myself, and a cat somebody has made in Blender that I would use as a sort of goal.
The only thing that would stop me from pursuing this idea for project 2 is possibly the most important element: time. I highly doubt I'd have the time to sculpt, rig, and animate a cat as well as create a balcony scene for it. I know there's options to use resources from the Internet, but I really think this is something I'd prefer to do from scratch. Maybe I'll pursue it in my free time.
I do have another idea that I would be really excited to execute for project 2, though, and it's much more achievable. I absolutely love ducklings, so I think it would be really fun to sculpt a duckling and 3D print it. Here are some idea photos below.
On the left is a duckling model, something that I would aim for when sculpting my own. On the right is a duckling sitting on a lily pad. My idea would be to sculpt a duckling sitting on a lily pad, hopefully with a little lily flower on his head too. I think that would be super cute. And then I could either 3D print him out, or make him part of the "sculpture gallery" discussed in class, or even both!
While I am excited about both ideas, the duckling one is certainly more achievable for the time constraints. I hope to do this for my project!
